BuzzFeed News’s Ben Smith went on Fox News to talk to Tucker Carlson on Wednesday. During the interview he defended BuzzFeed’s openness and tolerance to opposing views politically, socially, etc.
This is FALSE.
This questioning of BuzzFeed’s tolerance stems from a recent Business Insider profile on once-upon-a-time alt-right provocateur Baked Alaska, a.k.a. Tim Gionet, a former BuzzFeed employee.
In screenshots exclusively provided to Big League Politics by former BuzzFeed employee Tim “Treadstone” Gionet, better known as Baked Alaska, the website’s Director of Social Media Maycie Thornton wishes for Trump’s assassination as co-workers laughed and cheered her on.
“Maybe someone will assassinate him,” said Thornton.

In speaking with Big League exclusively, Gionet commented:
“This was not the first time BuzzFeed employees talked openly about wishing President Trump would get assassinated, they hated conservatives so much they even held an office party when Justice Scalia died. It was a toxic environment and you were declared a heretic if you were a Trump supporter, bottom line.”

Bringing it all back to Ben Smith, Gionet commented publicly on Twitter regarding the truth and BuzzFeed:
Ben is lying, I was treated very unfairly at BuzzFeed when I came out as a Trump supporter. They openly wish someone will assassinate Trump. https://t.co/LssbKtOoiW
